What does “khryuchevo” mean in Russian internet slang?
Хрючево (khryúchevo) is Russian internet slang for slop, ugly food, or any meal you’d be slightly embarrassed to admit eating but eat anyway. The word comes from хрюкать (khryúkat'), “to oink,” with the suffix turning it into a noun: literally “the thing you oink while eating.” Russian gamers and Twitch streamers use it constantly to describe what they cook on stream, with self-mocking affection.
The clip features a streamer who prepares decent-looking хрючево, then refuses to eat it, the running joke of the genre. Хрючево belongs to a generation of online Russians who treat ugly cooking as a brand. Bonus word: рофлер (rofler, “one who ROFLs”), used in the same clip.
