What does “na luzie” mean in Polish?

When the pencil holds half a kilo without bending, the video’s narrator says “na luzie” — “no problem, easy.” The phrase is built on luz, a noun that originally meant mechanical “play” or “slack” — the wiggle room in a loose bolt or a slack rope. Calling a challenge “na luzie” is like saying it’s handled “with room to spare.”

Luz is itself a loanword, from German lose (“loose, free”), first recorded in Polish over two centuries ago. It’s since spun off a whole register of chill: zluzować (“to loosen up, relax”), luzik (a mellow little “chill”), and the drawn-out, faintly sarcastic “luuuz” people use when something clearly wasn’t actually that easy.
