The clip opens on a messy living room: “거실이 어질러져 있어요,” “the living room is a mess.” That’s -아/어 있다 attached to 어지르다 (“to make a mess”) — a grammar pattern for a state left behind by a finished action, not an action in progress. Compare it to -고 있다: “어지르고 있어요” would mean someone is in the middle of messing the room up right now; “어질러져 있어요” means the mess is already done and just sitting there.

The same pattern tags “after” states throughout this cleaning routine — a door left open, dishes set out on the table, décor left hanging up — anywhere Korean describes the result of a finished action rather than the action itself. Once you can hear -아/어 있다 as “still in that state” rather than “happening,” a whole category of “is open,” “is broken,” “is written” sentences click at once — useful well beyond chores.
